ASTRONOMER-PUBLIC OUTREACH AND EDUCATION

Full-time Astronomer will promote excellence in astronomical education and outreach activities that inspire the general public and educators by making use of the tremendous resources available at and through the Dudley Observatory at miSci. Create and deliver informative, educational, and entertaining programs designed to illuminate the science and avocation of astronomy. Astronomer to work with miSci staff to design and operate a new Observatory on the miSci campus. Advanced degree in astronomy or related field required.

Required qualifications Advanced degree in astronomy or related field. Solid grasp of general astronomy information, research methods, and an interest in amateur astronomy. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and meet multiple deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
